Professional Statement

My name is Melody and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist LMFT and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor with a long history of helping clients in a variety of settings, such as clinic based, in-home, correctional re-entry, private practice, school-based, crisis response, and in substance abuse rehabilitation. I have enjoyed working with adults, couples, families, teens, and children from diverse backgrounds who are living with mental health issues and/or who are suffering from addiction. I am a firm believer that the therapy process begins with building trust and rapport with a client long term change occurs. I also believe that everyone has the innate ability to overcome their issues with the right personal guide to help them along the way. This is where I come in. My job as your guide is to provide a private, safe, supportive, and collaborative environment to help you find reasonable solutions to any overwhelming challenges that you may be going through. Together we will discuss your challenges, emotions, behaviors, stressors, life situations, and any other events that are negatively affecting your life. As a team, we will set attainable goals for you by utilizing a Client Centered Approach, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and other evidence-based practices that are designed to be short termed and solution focused to help you reach your goals. I do not believe that one therapy fits all, but working as a team we will find the right fit for you. Lets take this journey together.
