Maria Medvedev is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #112590. She received her Master's degree from John F. Kennedy University in Counseling Psychology. Maria works with a variety of client populations including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. She has experience working with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and Bipolar disorder. Additionally, Maria has completed the 40 hour Domestic Violence training. She is also trained in Early Childhood Development. Maria provides a supportive, comfortable and non-judgmental, safe space for exploration and discussion of the client's issues. As your therapist, Maria will build a trusting relationship with you, encourage your current strengths, and empower you to make the changes you want to make in your life. She particularly enjoys helping those who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and/or who are going through a transition period in their life and having a hard time navigating the changes. She focuses on helping children, teens, and adults through a combination of mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other forms of evidence-based and effective counseling, designed to improve unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Treatment is person-centered and individually tailored to reduce symptoms and improve emotional wellness and quality of life.
