Professional Statement

I’m Dr. Lisa LaFave, a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with teenagers and adults in many different settings. My passion is supporting people who are in pain, or who have been wounded in relationships and struggle to see a path forward for themselves. Depression, anxiety, and the impact of traumatic relationships may be signposts that you might benefit from psychotherapy to address the underlying causes that are creating these symptoms in your life. You can engage in this work and grow, heal and flourish. You don’t have to try to heal alone. Hope, growth, and joy are possible. I partner with my patients and help them listen to their lives so that they can heal and explore new possibilities. This isn’t easy work, but it’s important and life-giving. My goal is to explore the story of your life with you, and help you address the experiences and relational hiccups that have contributed to your difficulties now, through the lens of a healing, psychotherapeutic relationship.
