Professional Statement
Dr. Welsh is a clinical psychologist licensed in both California and Nevada. His interest in depth psychology and analysis began during his undergraduate studies at Sonoma State University where he was inspired to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Dr. Welsh has experience providing brief and long term therapy, program development, clinical supervision, and training. Dr. Welsh works with individuals, couples, and first responders to address the capacity of awareness in addition to the ability to engage in change. Dr. Welsh views therapy is a space to both share and express oneself without the presence of judgement. Therapy is a collaborative journey that is based on empathy and compassion, which allows for a relationship-based form of therapy that integrates insight within the treatment. He views therapy as a medium leading to long-lasting change to help you identify what obstacles are getting in the way of your professional and personal growth. Dr. Welsh has worked within schools, residential adolescent and adult treatment centers, non-profit therapy organizations, substance use treatment facilities, clinics, private practices, and correctional facilities. He specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and substance use.
