Professional Statement
With guidance and therapeutic support I will help you during times of change and with challenges in your life. I have over 20 years of experience working with parents, tech employees, corporate leaders, artists, students and newly out individuals. My work is best described as collaborative. I see the therapeutic relationship as walking side by side on an exploratory journey, where you are active in the process of your healing. Every person has a unique set of experiences that shape them and in the kaleidoscope of your life, what therapeutic approach works best may have to be discovered. I use blends of theories in my sessions to find the right fit for you. I often approach a problem with CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as it has been proven to be effective in relieving depressive symptoms. To review past relationships and experiences that still influence you today, it might be more effective to use Jungian principals or look deeper into your family of origin. I have practiced EMDR for 15 years (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). It is effective for grief, trauma, breakups, anxiety and when you are stuck, can help you move away from unhealthy patterns of behavior and traumatic memories. I look forward to speaking with you about whatever brings you into therapy at this time.
