Professional Statement
My name is Charles and I have been practicing therapy for over ten years. My approach is cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, and solution oriented. In our work together, I help clients identify their strengths, even if they feel like they don’t have any, and utilize them to overcome any barrier. I believe that changing an aspect of your life takes practice, and I provide the space to do just that. I have worked with adults, teens, and young children who experience depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and anger issues. Currently, many of my clients include families and couples who are going through a transition and need help managing stress and anxiety. I specialize in parenting and couples work; aiding couples in communication skills, improving personal coping skills, and learning parenting strategies. I am trained in anger management, developing behavioral plans to reduce unwanted behaviors, MAP, MST, and TFCBT. I often work with divorced couples who would like to create healthy co-parenting relationships. I believe that faith can be very powerful in the journey to healing and help clients incorporate their religious beliefs into our work if they desire to do so. I truly enjoy helping people meet their goals and find ways of decreasing their pain and I’d love to help you.
