Professional Statement

Hello! I'm Dr. Andrew Mendonsa, a clinical and forensic psychologist with over 20 years of experience guiding individuals through life's challenges and helping them embrace their authentic selves. I am licensed across the nation and hold specialty board certification. I work with older teens, adults, and seniors, with a particular focus on LGBTQ + Issues and ConcernsQIA+ individuals, those struggling with problematic sexual behaviors, and clients seeking a male therapist's perspective. My career has spanned diverse settings, from community mental health and marginalized populations to the criminal justice system, corporate boardrooms, and high-net-worth individuals. These experiences have equipped me with a nuanced understanding of the unique pressures faced by specialized populations, especially men. Whether you're navigating shame, guilt, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, or the demands of modern life, I'm here to help. As an LGBTQ + Issues and ConcernsQIA+ affirming therapist, I provide a safe, judgment-free space to explore your identity, relationships, and sexuality. Whether you're questioning, coming out, or navigating the intricacies of LGBTQ + Issues and ConcernsQIA+, kink, alt-pop, or straight communities, I offer support tailored to your journey. My goal is to empower you to live authentically and confidently. For those grappling with problematic behaviors affecting work, relationships, finances, or other areas, I take a compassionate, non-judgmental approach. Instead of ultimatums, we’ll explore the motivations behind your actions and your desire for change. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan, develop healthy coping strategies, and rebuild a life free from shame, guilt, and compulsive behaviors. I also specialize in supporting high-achieving professionals in business and academia. With personal experience managing companies, navigating career transitions, and leading in the public sector, I understand the pressures of professional life. If you're facing burnout, work- related stress, or major life decisions, I can offer practical tools for success and well-being. My therapy approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and focused on tangible results. Think of therapy as a tune-up for your mind – a chance to reset, refocus, and thrive. I don't believe therapy needs to be a lifelong commitment. Together, we’ll tackle the challenges you face and get you back on track to living a fulfilling, balanced life.
