My name is Vanessa Rivas and I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I graduated from the University of Southern California School with a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2010 and I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Chicano/a Studies from California State University, Northridge. As an LCSW with a background in ethnic studies, my passion in healing is rooted in community, human dignity, and in supporting children, adults, and their Family through the challenges of social change. My experience includes working as a strength- based mental health therapist in various non-profit community settings as well as medical settings within communities in need. With over 16 years of experience in mental health, my purpose is to create a safe healing experience to anyone seeking to heal past trauma, break intergenerational cycles, and develop a sense of awareness and consciousness in their life journey creating and living an honest, healthy, and purposeful. I have extensive experience in working with children, adults, and their Family in creating a deeper understanding of their individual and relational experiences. My areas of expertise include generational violence and trauma, family systems, foster care, domestic violence, probation, incarceration, anxiety, and depression. In my practice, I will create an individualized treatment plan to meet your healing journey and needs while utilizing a culturally sensitive, non- judgmental, and educational approach and modalities.
