Hi, I’m Dr. Teena Barbre – or just Teena, if you prefer. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, based in California. I offer therapy to clients across the state via telehealth, working with individuals, couples, and families.
My Approach
I believe that every session is an opportunity for meaningful progress. I take a goal-oriented and collaborative approach, drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to tailor our work to your unique needs. My style allows me to remain flexible and adaptive, ensuring that therapy is both effective and personally meaningful.
My Focus
I specialize in helping people who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and life transitions. Whether you're struggling with a recent change or working through long-standing patterns, I aim to help you build resilience, feel more in control, and create a more fulfilling and balanced life.
My Communication Style
I’m honest, direct, and compassionate. I truly listen, and I’ll tell you what you need to hear—even when it’s hard—because that’s often where real growth happens. Therapy isn’t always easy, but it is worth it. My goal is to create a safe space where you can face challenges head-on and come out stronger on the other side.

Missed and Late Cancel Office Policy: Our
office requires two
full business days’ notice (48 hours) to cancel or reschedule your
appointment or your credit card will be charged a late cancellation fee.
Saturdays, Sundays, and Legal Holidays are not counted as business days
(i.e., if you have an appointment on Monday at 11:00 am, and you wish to
change it without penalty, you would need to call our office on the
preceding Thursday morning before 11:00 a.m. to avoid the late cancellation
fee). The late cancellation fee is $150 for a session with a psychiatrist,
or $100 for a session with a psychologist or master’s level therapist. If
you are not present at the start time of your scheduled appointment, it may
be marked as missed by your provider. Unfortunately, we cannot bill your
insurance for late cancellations, missed sessions, and appointments with too
little time. We apologize that there are no exceptions to the late
cancellation policy.
