Nice to Meet You
Hello! I am Dr. Bob Henley, a California licensed psychologist who has been providing counseling and psychotherapy services professionally for 34 years. The focus of my work has been to help adults of all ages who are dealing with stressful or traumatic life events, life transitions, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, worry, or who are seeking self-improvement and growth.
I integrate different healing models and approaches to therapy in response to a person’s specific needs. This can include short-term solution-focused therapy or longer in-depth work. My core approaches are Person-Centered, strengths based, and pragmatic, utilizing Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamic, Jungian, Mindfulness (cognitive) and Integral approaches. I also have helped people who have had psychedelic medicine experiences do integration/transpersonal work.
My methods are to educate about the therapy process, to listen carefully, to be respectful, and to work collaboratively with a person. The aim is to help a person understand what they are feeling and thinking, how this impacts them and how best to manage all this. It is important that therapy is a team effort, where together we will identify what improvements, changes or new directions that you want and can achieve. I look forward to the opportunity to talk with you!
