Nice to Meet You
My approach in working with a client is to form a collaborative, non-judgmental, supportive relationship to help identify means of coping with stressors and symptoms, address barriers to change, and process adverse experiences. My approach can include helping clients find alternatives to negative thoughts, identify strengths that can be built upon towards resiliency, and helping clients identify proactive behaviors and supports. I engage in a typical session with active listening, asking questions, and providing input. My approach is informed by the inquiry into the meaning of significant life events, experiences, and relationships that shape one's perception and self-beliefs, and exploring the possible meaning of dreams. I work with clients to foster the development of insight and understanding that can lead to change.
I graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, CA, in Sept. 2001, where I focused on depth psychology after completing my predoctoral internship at the C.G. Jung Institute in San Francisco, CA. After graduation, I worked in community outpatient settings, particularly in forensic mental health, before joining PAWC.
