Ela Donis MD is a board-certified adult psychiatrist that has been in practice for over 10 years. She attended and graduated Cum Laude at the National University of Mexico Medical School in Mexico City and is fluent in both Spanish and English. She completed her internship and residency at Northwell Health -Long Island Jewish Medical Center affiliated with Hofstra University School of Medicine in Long Island, New York. During her residency she completed a fellowship in psychoanalytic training in New York University School of Medicine at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, New York. Dr. Donis is board certified in psychiatry and neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Medical Association and American Psychiatric Association. Among other services, Dr. Donis is competent in performing thorough psychiatric assessments, differential diagnosis, prognostic assessments, genetic testing and interpretation and medication management. Other colleagues and patients have described her as knowledgeable and compassionate. Presently she is accepting patients. Her areas of interest are PTSD, trauma associated disorders ,mood disorders and anxiety disorders.

Missed and Late Cancel Office Policy: Our office requires two full business days’ notice (48 hours) to cancel or reschedule your appointment or your credit card will be charged a late cancellation fee. Saturdays, Sundays, and Legal Holidays are not counted as business days (i.e., if you have an appointment on Monday at 11:00 am, and you wish to change it without penalty, you would need to call our office on the preceding Thursday morning before 11:00 a.m. to avoid the late cancellation fee). The late cancellation fee is $150 for a session with a psychiatrist, or $100 for a session with a psychologist or master’s level therapist. If you are not present at the start time of your scheduled appointment, it may be marked as missed by your provider. Unfortunately, we cannot bill your insurance for late cancellations, missed sessions, and appointments with too little time. We apologize that there are no exceptions to the late cancellation policy.
