Lorraine is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist having a passion for helping others to create positive change in their lives. Her clinical work is both trauma-informed, and trauma focused. She utilizes her extensive knowledge to help treat trauma and related mental health issues to include trauma related disorders, somatic disorders, mood disorders, substance use/addictive disorders, neurocognitive/developmental disorders, behavioral/emotional disorders, personality disorders, gender disorders, sexual dysfunction, paraphilic disorders, and psychotic disorders. Her authentic and intersubjective role helps integrate her philosophy that therapy is a personalized journey, and treatment should echo the same.
Lorraine received her Master’s in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis on Marriage Family Therapy from California State University Northridge. She is also Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)/Brainspotting trained. Her education, professional knowledge, and skills, as well as her personal experience, development, and character contribute to the quality care and clinical therapeutic services she offers to the community.
She has fulfilled a wide range of clinical roles from working in non-profit sector with the Department of Children and Family Services, with at-risk youth, with domestic and intimate partner violence survivors, sexual Abuse (Physical, Sexual, etc.), assault, and trafficking survivors, has worked more than 15 years in the drug and alcohol substance treatment arena in the capacity of Group Facilitator, Case Manager, Counselor, Therapist, Assistant Clinical Director, and Clinical Director, and has acted as consultant and contractor at various companies, as well as operating a private practice.
Outside of work Lorraine enjoys gardening, body-surfing, kayaking, hiking, traveling, spending time with family, playing with her three grandkids, and visiting with friends.
