Nice to Meet You
Dr. Karl Adler is a board-certified psychiatrist who works with adults. Along with psychodynamic, family systems and cognitive training and influences, he uses a somatic, 'mind-body psychotherapy approach called formative psychology, and medications if helpful. The formative approach, for those patients for whom it's a fit, offers a way to take more charge over influencing things such as one's states, relating, functioning and growth. Incorporating physical-emotional exercises, which are the means of having the influence over oneself that was just mentioned, this approach offers the possibility of experiencing and enhancing one's growth and progress in the moment. His approach addresses both one's goals, and the things that get in the way. He takes an optimistic approach that helps patients bring themselves as far forward as possible. He encourages patients to support their personal growth, relationships and humanity.
