Professional Statement
A little about myself. I grew up in Alabama (Go Roll Tide!), where I also attended college. I received my bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. When I was little, I lost my dad to cancer, and I always knew I wanted to grow up and help others. I thought I could save the world from cancer if I tried hard enough. As I got older, I realized that different degrees of pain exist, and my role could be to help others through theirs. My passion for psychology got sparked when I took my first psychology class in high school. I knew right away I had found my passion. After college graduation, in 2003, I moved to California and got married. I pursued my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and graduated in 2009. I have since been blessed enough to have the opportunity to work with children as young as 3 and adults as old as 99. I returned to school in 2011 and attended the Florida Institute of Technology to pursue classes in Applied Behavior Analysis. I completed that program in 2013. I worked as an ABA therapist with children on the spectrum and provided parent training and education to their families. I have since worked in community mental health clinics, non-profits, group practice, and nursing homes, and in 2020 once the pandemic hit, I ventured off into private practice. When I'm not working, I enjoy being a mom to my 4 beautiful kids. They are my greatest joy and accomplishment. As your psychologist I will do my best to be your beacon of hope for better days for you or your loved ones. I promise to always listen with an open heart and an open mind and to guide you towards your goals and dreams.
