Dr. Marinés Novoa is a licensed clinical psychologist committed to providing a safe and empathetic space for healing. Dr. Novoa is bilingual (Spanish/English) and works with children, adolescents, families and young adults (18-30). She utilizes an integrative approach and tailors her work to each client’s unique story. Dr. Novoa’s main goal is to meet clients where they are and help them to overcome different life challenges by building upon their strengths. When working with children and adolescents, Dr. Novoa works collaboratively with parents and their child/adolescent in order to maintain and strengthen the family unit. Dr. Novoa also tailors her work to the child’s developmental stage, incorporating art, play and visuals to help the child express and understand their feelings. When working with young adults, Dr. Novoa works together with the client to establish their goals and build upon their current strengths as they continue to develop their identity and independence. Dr. Novoa is a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and works closely with the child/adolescent and their families through the healing process of trauma, as trauma does not just impact the child/adolescent, but it also impacts the family. Dr. Novoa is skilled in helping clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflicts, providing parenting support, autism and grief. In addition, she works with life transitions and with issues around spirituality. Dr. Novoa is a Catholic Christian therapist, and at your request, she will also incorporate spiritual support into your therapy work.
