Professional Statement

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained my Masters and Bachelor degrees in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. For the past 19 years, I have been providing services to adolescents, adults, and couples. I commend you on making the decision to begin counseling. Life brings many ups and downs and every single person can benefit from therapy. It takes a great deal of strength to recognize those times when you may need some extra help. My goal in treatment is to provide a safe place to give you the support you need to face those challenging times and help you learn how to get through them in a healthy, positive way that will lead to a more fulfilling life. Every client will receive treatment that best suits their needs, but my therapeutic style tends to be cognitive-behavioral or solution focused. I enjoy working with clients to discover how negative patterns of thinking can lead to problematic behaviors and how changing the way we think can change behaviors. I also work with clients to identify their strengths and coping skills to assist them in managing everyday stress. Being a therapist is my passion and I enjoy learning each individual's story. I have enjoyed a career working with individuals who are dealing with depression, anxiety, anger difficulties, ADHD, parenting issues, family conflicts, divorce, abuse, and the everyday stresses of life. I look forward to working with you and supporting you through any challenge that you may face.
