Professional Statement
Healing through empathy I am currently a Chief Psychologist employed by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and serving as Chief of Mental Health. If you are reading this bio, chances are, I am reading you because, “Isn’t that what a psychologist is supposed to do?” I received training as a Marriage and Family Therapist, a Neuropsychologist, and a Forensic Psychologist. As such, I empathically listen, ask clarifying questions, look for patterns and trends, examine collateral information, and/or administer assessments in order to make cogent evaluations. I value the tenets of Positive Psychotherapy and approach therapy with an interpersonal, client-centered approach; with the belief that people have the ability to self-actualize. I also believe in self-care and espouse the benefits of working out, being active, and mindfulness meditation.
